Nutrition Basic Guides To Help You

Some make nutrition like it is complicated based on blood, zodiac sign, or more. Yet most of us are not sure about the basics and struggle to get the foundations of good nutrition as habits in our lives. Starting here is the key to health and longevity. So let's start- think of your plate as having 5 parts. It is helpful to determine what your high quality protein source will be first and then let the meal come around this. The reason we suggest that is we are less likely to consume protein compared to carbohydrate based meals. Complex carbohydrates are important however, protein can be under consumed.

We do not recommend becoming consumed with calculating and tracking however, it is helpful if you want to understand your baseline eating if you do calculate how much you consume. This will give a guideline for where to start to improve (if at all!). It also allows a way to monitor improvements over time!

Part of enjoying life is socializing with friends and family, going to restaurants, and enjoying foods that do not contribute to our physical health but are a part of our social experience. Is important to not restrict ourselves right out but learning to limit these to 'occasional' will benefit our overall health. 

There are key vitamins, minerals, and micronutrients we can benefit from. While vitamin and mineral supplements can be helpful, they are intended to be dietary 'supplements' that is, fitting in things we are not currently getting from our food. Below is a graphic showing some important nutrients to ensure we are sufficient in. We will break this down in a future session!
